Keep Calm and Carry On – An Act from God
So your big day is coming! Your venue is booked, the tables are set, your guests are all ready to party and most important of all, you are happy because everything is going according to plan!
Nothing can go wrong………………….oh hold on this is a “Keep Calm and Carry On” article, something has to go wrong so what is it this time?
Love it or hate it, it is always there waiting to make or break your day and this is especially true for your big day since dark and brooding rain clouds are not a good sign for a outdoor wedding.
Unless you are planning on a Halloween themed wedding then a mild thunderstorm might actually add atmosphere to your spooky proceedings.
So what happens if the weather becomes your enemy?
What if you experience a freak thunderstorm in the middle of what is suppose to be summer? Well do not panic! Most of the time these thunderstorms do not last long and once it is all over, your big day can carry on as planned if a bit delayed. If it doesn’t stop raining then first point of call would be to contact the person who is performing your marriage rites. In the end of the day, he or she will be the one who decides if the wedding is going ahead and if they say no, it is still not the end of the world. Your reception can still go ahead even though you are not married. Just think of it as a pre-wedding reception! Although you will want to start rounding up as many umbrellas and wellington boots that you can find for your guests.
Then again, it could be the mother of all thunderstorms! You know the ones where lives are at stake. Well if that is the case then quite frankly forget about your wedding and head for safety.
Only when the drama is all over, you should start thinking about sorting out your wedding and I do have a sneaky suspicion that you will get a lot of sympathy from everyone involved. Just speak to all parties concerned and it is likely that they will help you make your big day come true once again.
But what are the chances of experiencing such bad weather that it could endanger lives. Highly unlikely I think so don’t worry about that scenario.
Most of the time the weather will be fine. Just think about all the wedding you have ever been to or heard about and did one of those get ruined by bad weather? I bet all of them turned out just fine.
So the moral of the story today is weather is highly unlikely to ruin your day but if it does then keep calm and make the best of a bad situation.
